Things are looking up

Or at least I am... usually.  A side effect of spending most of my time on the floor.  This time I was looking up at a skylight in the Salt Lake City Children's Library.  Fascinating because it's covered in rippling water.

Action!

Well, I'm full-on crawling now.  Mommy & Daddy have put up the baby gate, and I'm starting to hear the word 'NO!' aimed in my general direction, usually when I'm making a bee-line for Joie's water bowl.
I still really, really enjoy bath time.  Gavin has discovered the joy of showers, so I mostly get to be in the tub by myself these days.

Kim's 4 Kare

I'm feeling nostalgic today, so I think I'll tell you about my old day care. The really special thing about going to Kim's is that I had THREE people taking care of me: Kim, Kim's mom Lynette (the kids call her Nana) and Kim's daughter Danyah.  All three of them treated me with soooo much love.  I always felt special, safe, and content when I was with them.  Gavin really liked them too.  I miss them, but I'm glad I get to spend more time with my mommy now.  The pictures at left were taken at Danyah's 6th birthday party in Logan back in early August.  We moved to SLC at the end of July but went back to Logan for the birthday party and to clean our old house and move the things that we had left behind on the big moving day.

To the right is a picture of me enjoying my last meal in the Hyrum Chard Yard before heading back to our new home.  The window that you can see is the one in my old bedroom.  I probably won't remember our old house much when I get older, but I sure did have a lot of fun there.

I'm 10 Months Old!

Mommy tried to get a picture of me laying on the flowery blanket, but I just can't lay still for more than a second or two. I've got places to go and things to do! I'm soooo close to being able to crawl that it's driving me crazy and keeping me from sleeping at night. That black blob behind me is my dog Joie. She likes to lay down in close proximity to wherever I am and she's taken to sleeping in my room with me and Gavin at night. If I cry, she's either right there by my side or looking for Mommy and Daddy to let them know. She likes it when I pull on her ears, I think. I've started eating Cheerios and other finger foods like bananas. The more 'big people' food I eat, the less interested I am in being spoon fed. Unless I'm the one holding the spoon, that is. I'm enjoying my new house and I love to giggle with my big brother.

On the Move

Holy cow! It's been a long time since I last posted.  So much has happened!  The biggest news is that I moved from Hyrum to Salt Lake City.  We had a little party at our house a couple of weeks before we moved.  My friend Claire came early so that we could hang out together without being distracted.  My day care providers Kim and Lynette came with my friend (Kim's daughter) Danyah.  A bunch of other people came too, including Shannon who loves to hold me and gave me a little taste of her beer.

On moving day, lots of people came to both our old house and our new house to help. Some of them helped with the moving part, but the lucky ones got to take care of me.  There aren't many pictures from that day because Mommy was too busy with other stuff, but here are a few pictures of Gavin and me horsing around in our new house, and of me with my Nana and Papa, who stopped by for a visit on their way home to Chicago from Alaska.

Another newsworthy item is that I've had FOUR teeth come in since my last post.  They're all on top and I love using them in conjunction with my two bottom teeth to mash up Cheerios and to clamp down on my spoon.  You can kinda see them in the picture to the left.

I'm not crawling yet, but boy do I want to!  I'm great at getting up on all fours and moving my hips back and forth, but picking those darn arms and legs of mine up off the floor is proving to be really difficult.  For now I'll just stick with log-rolling and scooting backwards on my belly.
