I'm 7 Months Old!

My mommy is going to have to try again tomorrow to get a good 7-month picture of me. Wouldn't you know it - the camera battery was low! Mommy took a few pictures before it died, including this one of my big brother pouting because he wasn't allowed to sit in front of me for my photo shoot.
Even without an 'official' 7-month picture, I can give you a 7-month update. You would not believe how much food I can pack away these days. My thigh rolls have rolls! My food repertoire now includes rice cereal, apples, avocados, bananas, carrots, pears, squash, and of course, good ol' hypoallergenic formula. I'm starting to be able to sit on my own for several minutes without tipping over. My favorite pastimes are playing in my jumperoo and exersaucer and watching my big brother play trains. The biggest news of all this month is that I'm starting to get my first tooth! Front and center, bottom row. It sometimes wakes me up at night, but most of the time I sleep really well.

This one is kinda blurry, but it's a pretty good representation of my thighs:

My Guys

Food, Glorious Food!

Solid food (ok, we all know it's far from solid, but it's way more solid than formula) is yummy! I've gotten really good at eating off of a spoon these past few weeks. My repertoire of foods, and of people who feed them to me, has grown tremendously in the past month. I've had applesauce, avocado, blueberries, carrots, squash, and sweet potato. I've also recently branched out from rice cereal into a multigrain mix of oats, spelt and barley (a good test of my tolerance for gluten).

I'm 6 Months Old!

Can you believe it?  Half a year has gone by since I took my first breath.  At six months of age I'm enjoying a daily dose of rice cereal in addition to my usual formula.  I also tasted some squash this week, thanks to my adventurous daddy.  I started going to daycare a couple of weeks ago.  I really liked hanging out with Mommy in her office, but at daycare there are lots of fun faces for me to look at and bunches of new toys.  I like it there and Gavin seems to like it too.  I haven't rolled over at my house yet, but I did roll from my back to my belly once on my very first day of daycare, much to Mommy's chagrin.  I'm continuing to love my jumperoo and I'm getting better control of my hands all the time.  My big brother seems to be taking a little more interest in me now that I'm taking a little more interest in him.  My half birthday is extra special because I get to spend it with my Nana and Papa who arrived last night, almost 6 moths to the day since they arrived for their last visit to welcome me into the world.

I don't need glasses...

I drink right out of the bottle!  Especially if my cousin Kenzy is holding it for me.
As of about a week ago I officially switched from Mama's milk to nothing but hypoallergenic formula.  At first it seemed to have done the trick to rid me of my diarrhea, but by Friday evening the darn stuff was back and it hasn't left since.  On to the next set of tests and hypotheses...

Lucky Me

I have a Grandma who makes sure that I have an outfit for every occasion and St. Patrick's Day is no exception.

Like Snoopy says, I'm so lucky!

Knitted by Hand

I got a wonderful surprise in the mail the other day: A hand-knit sweater with matching beret from my Nana and Papa's friend Linda.  Purely by coincidence the pink and lavender outfit I was wearing that day coordinated perfectly with my new knitwear.  Here's what Linda wrote on the note she enclosed:
"Dear Julie, I hope I didn't miss a size 'window' for Vivian. Just got busy with several family babies - 2011 was quite a year - 3 in October. We think of you often and loved your Christmas card. Gavin looked so happy!  Was Brandon tickling him?  Love, Linda & George. PS - The beret might be too much!"

What do you think; is the beret too much?

I don't think so either!
